CHINESE NEW YEAR BEGINS TODAY!!
It’s a time of new beginnings much like our new year that arrives on the first of January.
Chinese new year is usually an exciting time full of celebration and all kinds of fun new concepts that you expect to grow throughout the year. And yet, like our new year on January 1st there is hesitation, anticipation, and expectations that hold us back. Things become a bit murky in these new times.
So I have to ask….have you been feeling a little stagnant lately?
My friend tells me she wants to change her life but says she never does the work to get herself to make permanent changes. All she says she concentrates on is the same ole, same ole…
I’ve definitely been here. It’s where you know you want to change. You can feel the need to change and yet no matter how hard you try nothing seems to stick. You end up going back to the familiar things that are not working. Even if it’s not working for you, it’s kind of like having an old friend around. They make it hard for you to say that they need to move on. That they’ve worn out their welcome.
It’s the concept of taking yourself out of your comfort zone. That box surrounding you becomes pretty comfortable after awhile even though you’ve grown out of it. You’re very familiar with what takes place while you live in it. The food you eat tastes good even if it’s not healthy for you. Your house is just fine even though you want to move to experience living in a new area. Your job is fine…..just okay….even if you hate going to it each day it’s still just okay… Your marriage is doable even if you have days when you ask yourself what the hell you’re thinking and wonder why you stay.
If you really want to change your life you need to kick that box (comfort zone) to the curb and tell that old comfortable lifestyle it’s time to go. It’s not the old friend it thinks it is. You have to confirm that it is not helping you at all!
And now because it’s Chinese New Year you have another chance to jump start a new life.
With the onset of the new year, it’s also the first day of spring. Yep, spring has sprung. Which translates into CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN!! And then get ready to plant. 🙂
You’ve heard of spring cleaning haven’t you. This is the same concept farmers experience when they ready the ground to produce. They get in the fields to plow them up cleaning the area to plant new growth. This is the same concept for us. Just in a different metaphor is all.
Clean your home, office, body, and mind. The cleaning dial is now set to ON and is in full force from this day forward. When you clean, you open up space to grow new things. And in this case it will be helping you to change old or bad habits.
Spring signifies new growth.
Spring IS new growth.
You can’t grow plants properly until you clean the dead growth. Dead growth, in this case, would be anything that is no longer a vibrational match to you as you are now.
After cleaning you need to till your garden. Working it up to set up a healthy area in which to grow plants and in this case it would be growing intuition, creativity, and projects. “Till” your space by moving things around.
Rearrange your office.
Don’t forget your home.
Start with cleaning. And then after you’ve cleaned sufficiently move around the furniture, wall art, tchotchkes, and paintings.
Color plays a big role in spring. Spring blossoms bring vivid color full of life. Painting does the same thing.
Add the color red to all your areas including wearing it. Red signifies power and prosperity drawing it to you.
Add sound to keep good energy flowing by implementing wind chimes, tingshas, music, or water fountains. All of these items will continue to help you break up the energy of that “old friend”.
Don’t forget your body.
Move your body!
And, in spring, we now have access to more freshly grown foods. If you’ve been eating foods that you know you shouldn’t your body may need to be cleansed. Try fasting for a day or two or eat and drink smaller portions of foods that are not healthy for you. By cutting down on unhealthy foods, you now make room for new more healthy varieties.
And last but not least…Don’t forget your mind…..empty all those old thoughts onto paper cleaning out all the negative thinking making room to grow more positive thoughts.
Starting out your new year successfully fuels more goodness and good results in all areas.
Enjoy your new year everyone!!
Make life grow the way you want it!!
