By now, with our information age most of you know what happens when Mercury goes retrograde. If not you can read more from an article I wrote called Surviving Mercury Retrograde.
Its effects can send shivers down your spine.
The energy turns you into a babbling idiot not able to communicate well at all.
It’s no secret that communication suffers while Mercury is in retrograde.
Your thoughts just seem to disappear into thin air.
What you planned on saying comes out all wrong.
What you do say, people take differently than what was intended.
Now would be a good time to talk voice to voice rather than text or email, technology suffers even more.
Everything feels out of whack and misconstrued.
Equipment, especially machines dependent on electronic technology (which these days, is pretty much everything) seems to go haywire.
Humans act out of control similar to a full moon event.
Animals get anxious and fidgety.
Yes, Mercury Retrograde can be a challenge!
Mercury retrograde can make your life extremely miserable while it’s here.
But WAIT!! Now I sound like one of those commercials….If you act right now, you’ll get not one, but two…blah, blah….laughing!!
The fact is that you don’t really need to fear retrograde at all.
I was thinking about this after a client asked if it would be wise for her to look for a new job while Mercury was in retrograde. My answer…of course!! I told her to go ahead based on the fact that retrograde can’t stop you from achieving what is rightful to be. Though it can create a little drama surrounding what you want.
Actually, retrograde is a chance to look at and learn a few different aspects. All of which are very beneficial to us actually teaching us quite a bit.
What are the five most important things retrograde teaches us?
1. Patience. While trying to get your words out you’re forced to slow down enacting patience to all situations. Forcing you to think instead of just saying something just to speak. You’re more able to see all sides while pondering what to say. When you think about what you’re going to say, it should hopefully lead to less judgement as a whole. At least it has for me. Patience is a virtue everyone should learn.
2. Understanding. While practicing patience, you automatically slow down. You gain more understanding about situations. As you begin to understand, clarity makes a triumphant return. Patience and understanding work hand in hand. It’s a win-win I think.
3. Gratitude. I don’t know about you, but when I can’t think straight or speak clearly, I tend to get a little crazy. Not to say that I’m not that way most of the time. My husband, handyman, may be willing to suggest I am crazy on most occasions. 🙂 However, when I feel as if I’m losing my mind, when it all comes back to normal, well my normal anyway, I feel grateful that I’m not always messed up. Gratitude creeps in when you slow down, and understand that not everything works perfectly all the time.
4 Respect. When you live through a computer malfunction on a day when you desperately need it to function properly, you gain respect for what you have and how it works. There’s a conspiracy within the universe to get us humans to see the benefits of everything even if it needs to be forced down our throats. I’ve gained a healthy respect for the machines I own and the people that create them.
I’ve also learned to respect who I am. What my body does on a daily basis. And what I’ve become as a person.
When you’re forced to be patient, slow down, and be grateful, focusing on understanding, it really makes think. You gain respect for yourself and all that you’ve been able to accomplish. Including what you’ve accumulated despite any challenges, hardships or struggles you’ve had in the past.
I totally respect the creature comforts that make my life easy!
5. Deal with what’s not working. Normally you stuff circumstances that are out of your control deep inside, never looking at them again. This is human nature. You might tell yourself you’ll deal with it later, but you never do. You seem to reconcile to the fact that circumstances will always be the way they are so you never do anything to change them. Well, now you’re forced to reconcile your past.
You may think one day you’ll get around to finishing projects you started, but don’t. You will now need to look as those projects to determine if they are worth completely even though it’s been years since you’ve worked on them.
Retrograde, while spinning backwards, forces you to look at everything, ALL OF IT!!
An uneasy feeling starts to take shape about anything that’s needed your attention for a very long time.
Perhaps where you’re living isn’t working for you any longer, but you’ve ignored your feelings towards it.
Or the type of job you have does not suit you any longer, but you keep telling yourself you need to stay for whatever reason.
Or, a relationship you have is no longer working, but you continue to struggle through trying to make it work somehow some way.
Retrograde forces you to look at everything. No stone is left unturned. 🙂 There’s no hiding from it anylonger.
Why?? Because you’re worth so much more than you give yourself credit for!! And you should be respecting yourself enough to give you the best of everything.
That means if you to move you might be forced to.
If you need a different job to make you happy, you might be fired at this time. If you have a rocky relationship, you’ll be made to look at it head on.
If you need to dig out that unfinished novel or self-help book that’s what retrograde makes you do.
You will be forced to you look at all the situations that make you feel uncomfortable.
You’ll be guided to find ways to rectify or change them now. Not later, now!
I really enjoy this part the most. It gets me moving on projects I’ve shelved.
It forces me to clean out the cellular memories in my body of everything I hid so I didn’t feel the pain any longer.
The end result really, is all good. Of course, it can come at the expense of hurt feelings, agony and pain. However, when we deal with those types of situations we grow and become better human beings.
It’s ALL good!!.
Mercury retrograde is going to be here April 28th through May 22nd. You may as well look at what you’re going to learn and deal with it head on.
By accepting what Mercury retrogrades teaches us, you’ll be able to sail right through.
It’s all things you actually need to do anyway. 🙂
