Yesterday I posted a little bit about challenging situations on my Facebook business page. Today, something brought me back to it. As I re-read what I wrote I was drawn to the part about loving your flaws and imperfections. Many times, we’re taught or shown we need to love ourselves. Although, I have many clients that ask me how this is done. Sometimes, I find it difficult to answer that question since love is an internal feeling generated by what we like, not by what we don’t like. If you don’t like yourself it won’t be easy to love yourself.
So today, what came up was to look only at your flawed parts, not at the good stuff. These flawed parts are what make you different to the world. These parts are what you continue to hide. However, these parts are what you need to see since they’re keeping you from all the goodness life has to offer.
If you’re not embracing your flaws already, TODAY look in the mirror. Start by looking at the flaws you see for what they show you. You’re uniqueness. And then, embrace the fact that being unique in a world that wants to follow is a good thing, You’ll be instrumental in bringing balance to our society by not wanting to follow other people so far over to the other side that it makes the world tip. Balance will finally be achieved. 🙂
When you claim your uniqueness and independence, you could be the next president, Van Gogh, Nobel prize winner, best-selling author, or create the next up and coming technology device/center. You never know.
Today, if you allow yourself to embrace who you are, we’ll get to see all of you, and that’s a great thing, really it is. 🙂
I copied and pasted the post I’d written here if you have not seen it.
The part that got my attention is highlighted in red.
Many times, when experiencing challenging circumstances, we normally look for a reason why. You begin with who, what, where, why questions asking what can any of this be coming from. Although, when looking outside yourself you’ve missed the real culprit. Any challenge begins with you first. The universe is not here to play cruel jokes on you. It does not get some kind of high by making you feel bad or challenged. However, the inner conflicts you have with becoming a successful, healthy, happy, human being are the culprit. You’re actually fighting yourself. Trying so hard to keep yourself hidden in some sort of covert cover up making sure the world does not see you for who you are.
When, in fact, you are a fantastic human being, beautiful just the way you are, speaking correctly just the way you do. You have all the tools God gave you when you were born to succeed at anything you’d like. And you have all the love the world wants to possess at this time locked up tight. Loving yourself for your flaws and imperfections first and then what’s good, goes a long, long way to bring out the best in you. You should first give praise to the weakest parts of you which strengthens them bringing you to the fullest capacity of you. You now have the ability to be healthy, happy and whole without needing that recognition from anyone at anytime. You now shine to the fullest of your own ability. And we the world, now see you for the true beautiful self you are.
